Walkerswood Jerk Marinade

Walkerswood Jerk Marinade is based on the original Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning, with all the same flavor and taste that is loved, but with added water to loosen it and make it pourable and sauce-like.  Ideal for when time is short, but when you still want a delicious marinade or sauce to nice up your mealtimes.

 Hot Tip:   Mix the Jerk Marinade with honey to make an amazing dip for grilled meats and veggies!

What is Jamaican Jerk?

The most well-known and traditional method of Jamaican cooking is called “jerking”. Whereby meats and vegetables are rubbed with a spicy seasoning paste, made from a mixture of scotch bonnet pepper, spices, onions, garlic, and thyme.

For the most flavorsome results, the meat/fish/vegetables should marinate in the delicious paste, before being slowly cooked over a wood fire with pimento sticks, which adds to the aroma and smokey flavor of the traditional Jerk Pit.

How to Use Walkerswood Marinade:

Use as a baste, marinade, dip, or sauce. Apply approximately 30ml per 1kg of meat/fish/vegan alternative.

Recipe Idea

Marinate your preferred in Walkerswood Jerk Marinade, preferably overnight. Wrap each piece of meat/fish/vegan alternative in a foil pouch and place over indirect heat on the barbeque or 300-degree oven for at least one hour (if meat/fish) – the longer and slower you cook the better. Once they are tender, remove them from the foil and place over direct heat or increase oven temperature to 400 Degrees, baste repeatedly with the Jerk Marinade until well glazed.
